Bill C-6 - Electronic Privacy Issues

BILL C-6 - An Act to support and promote electronic commerce by protecting personal information that is collected, used or disclosed in certain circumstances, by providing for the use of electronic means to communicate or record information or transactions and by amending the Canada Evidence Act, the Statutory Instruments Act and the Statute Revision Act\ Guest speaker Ara P. Arzumanian practices business and information technology law, formerly with the law firm of Mantas Rosen, out of their Toronto office. He regularly advises companies that are engaged in e-commerce and other Internet-related activities, as well as companies that are engaged in the more traditional sectors. Ara is legal counsel to Toronto Webgrrls - Women on the Web, and other trade and professional associations, and he is a lecturer at the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies, where he speaks on legal issues relating to the Internet. He has also spoken to various groups, such as the Canadian Public Relations Society, and has written several articles relating to the Internet and legal issues.\ Cyberland cafe 257 Yonge Street doors open 5:30 pm
